Earnings from software or R&D activities in the region are exempt from income and corporate tax until 31/12/2023.
Deliveries and services in the form of system management, data management, business applications, sectoral, internet, mobile and military command control application software produced in the region are exempt from VAT until December 31, 2023.
Salaries related to these duties of R&D and support personnel working in the region are exempt from all taxes until 31/12/2023. The number of support personnel within the scope of exemption cannot exceed ten percent of the number of R&D personnel.
50% of the employer premium share of R&D and support personnel working in the region is covered according to Law No. 5746 on R&D.
The investment required for the production of the technological product obtained as a result of R&D projects started and completed in the region can be made within the region, provided that the management company finds it appropriate and the Ministry gives permission.
Goods and machinery-equipment imported for use in projects carried out in the region are exempt from customs tax and all kinds of funds, papers issued within this scope and transactions made are exempt from stamp tax and fees.
Those needed as research personnel in activities in the Region from public institutions and organizations and university personnel can be employed full-time or part-time with the permission of the institutions they work for. The income that part-time faculty members, lecturers, research assistants and specialists will receive in return for these services is kept outside the scope of the university revolving fund. Unpaid leave is given to personnel to be employed permanently by their institutions and their relations with their positions continue.
Foreign managers and qualified R&D personnel can be employed in these Regions within the framework of Law No. 6224 on Encouraging Foreign Capital and related legislation.
Since the R&D capabilities of the projects produced by businesses operating in technoparks are approved, the possibility of benefiting from grant supports provided by TÜBİTAK-TEYDEP increases significantly. TEYDEP provides grant support for up to 60% - 75% of the budget of R&D projects carried out by businesses.
If companies employ R&D personnel with at least a bachelor's degree in basic sciences such as mathematics, physics, chemistry or biology, the gross minimum wage portion of the monthly salary they pay to each of these personnel is covered by the Ministry of Industry and Technology for 2 years.
In case faculty members start activities in the Region, in addition to the advantages listed above, benefits are provided as follows. The income that faculty members assigned to the Regions will earn in the Region is kept outside the scope of the university revolving fund. Academic staff can establish companies in these Regions to commercialize the results of their research with the permission of the University Board of Directors, become partners in an established company, and/or take part in the management of these companies.
