The “Applied Bioinformatics Course,” organized by Rekombinant Biotechnology, one of our companies at Balıkesir Technopark, was successfully held on March 27, 2026, at our Technopark building. The highly popular training program brought together participants from the fields of molecular biology, genetics, and biotechnology between 9:30 AM and 5:30 PM.
Led by the founding partners of Recombinant Biotechnology and experts in their fields—Prof. Dr. Feray Köçkar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Esra Tokay, and Dr. Nelin Hacıoğlu—the course provided participants with hands-on training in current approaches to bioinformatics. The training, which brought together academic knowledge and industry experience, stood out for its rich content and practical applications.
The course covered topics such as an introduction to bioinformatics databases, methods for accessing gene and nucleotide sequences, sequence analysis file formats, primer design for expression, cloning, and promoter analyses, sequence comparison analyses, multiple alignment methods, and TF binding searches in detail.
Organized for the second time due to high demand following the first session, this training served as a significant example of the high-quality, value-added work conducted by our companies within the Technology Park. As Balıkesir Technology Park, we will continue to support such training and events organized by our entrepreneurs and companies and strengthen our ecosystem.
