Professor Dr. Sabri Bicakci and Associate Professor Dr. Hüseyin Güneş, researchers affiliated with Balikesir Teknokent, have secured funding from TÜBİTAK’s 1501 Industrial R&D Project Support Program for their company, MECHASIM Technology Inc. (“MECHASIM Teknoloji A.Ş.”), to develop a “Development of Artificial Intelligence-Supported Virtual Reality (VR)-Based PMKI (EOD) Training, Evaluation and Simulation System” research and development project for the defense industry.
Balikesir Teknokent-based academics Professor Dr. Sabri Bicakci and Associate Professor Dr. Hüseyin Güneş’s company, MECHASIM Teknoloji A.Ş., has been awarded funding under TÜBİTAK’s 1501 Industrial R&D Project Support Program for its research project, “Development of Artificial Intelligence-Supported Virtual Reality (VR)-Based PMKI (EOD) Training, Evaluation and Simulation System.”
The project, which aims to introduce an innovative approach to training and evaluation processes in explosive material detection and disposal through the use of artificial intelligence and virtual reality technologies, is expected to significantly contribute to the technological capabilities of Turkey’s defense industry.
