As part of the On-Site Visits to Pre-Investment Testing Centers under the EDIH WEST MARMARA Project, in which Balıkesir Teknokent is a stakeholder, visits were conducted to Bursa and Eskişehir. Ms. Büşra ŞEKER, Project Development and Partnerships Specialist, represented Balıkesir Teknokent during the program.

On the first day of the visit, a meeting was held with Bursa Eskişehir Bilecik Kalkınma Ajansı (BEBKA) to discuss potential areas of collaboration and joint project processes within the scope of prospective cooperation and shared fields of activity.

The program continued with visits to Bursa Model Fabrika, Enerji Verimlilik Merkezi, and Bursa Teknoloji Koordinasyon ve Ar-Ge Merkezi (BUTEKOM). During these visits, the technical infrastructures of the centers, along with their testing and pilot implementation capabilities and industry-oriented services, were examined on-site. Meetings with center representatives enabled comprehensive discussions on support mechanisms that could be provided to companies under the EDIH framework, potential collaboration models, and best practice examples.

On the second day, key industry- and technology-focused centers in Eskişehir were visited. The program began at Eskişehir Model Fabrika, where lean manufacturing, digital transformation, and efficiency-oriented applications were reviewed in detail. This was followed by a visit to Eskişehir Tasarım ve İnovasyon Merkezi (ETİM), where the infrastructure supporting design, innovation, and prototyping processes was evaluated.

Subsequently, the Prototype Centers operating under Eskişehir Teknik Üniversitesi were visited. Detailed information was obtained regarding ongoing university–industry collaboration activities, technical capacity, and available testing facilities.

These on-site visits have provided significant added value in strengthening pre-investment testing, validation, and scaling processes, enhancing interaction among regional ecosystems, and improving the quality and scope of services to be delivered within the project framework.

As an active stakeholder of the EDIH WEST MARMARA Project, Balıkesir Teknokent remains firmly committed to strengthening regional and national collaborations and to carrying out initiatives that add value to the industrial and entrepreneurial ecosystem.
